Privacy Policy

The short version: BogeyHunter processes your swing data and scoring data entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on any server. Your data is yours.
Scope: This policy covers all apps published by And Beyond Apps, LLC under the BogeyHunter umbrella. Sections 1–6 below describe the BogeyHunter coaching platform (Coach Mulligan’s desktop and iPhone app). Section 11 below covers BogeyHunter — The Tracker, a separate scorecard / KPI / tee-time app. Sections 7–10 (third parties, children’s privacy, retention, your rights) and Section 13 (contact) apply to all of the above.
And Beyond Apps, LLC ("we", "us", "our") publishes the BogeyHunter family of applications (collectively, the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information each app accesses, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
BogeyHunter is designed as a local-first application. The following data is processed and stored only on your own device and is never sent to us or to any third party:
- Swing video recordings and camera feed
- Biomechanical analysis metrics (rotation angles, tempo, and more)
- AI coaching conversations with Coach Mulligan, and what Coach Mulligan remembers about your game
- Golfer profile information (name, handicap, equipment, physical notes)
- Practice history, drill logs, and coaching plan progress
- Round scores and course history
- Club distances and bag configuration
- Launch monitor data from connected devices (e.g., GSPro)
2. On-Device AI Processing
BogeyHunter runs its AI models entirely on your device using your local hardware (on the desktop app, your NVIDIA graphics card; on iPhone, Apple’s on-device processors). No swing data, coaching conversations, or personal information is sent to cloud AI services. Coach Mulligan is an AI coach, and works without an internet connection.
3. Camera and Microphone Access
Camera (desktop): On the desktop app, cameras run only while a capture session or camera preview is active. Each swing the app detects during a session is saved as a short video clip on your computer so it can be analyzed and reviewed. Clips never leave your computer. You can delete individual swings or whole sessions in the app.
Camera (iPhone): The iPhone app uses the camera to capture swing video for analysis. Swing videos and key-frame images you capture are saved in the app on your phone so you can review them, and are never transmitted off your device. You can delete them in the app.
Microphone: On the desktop app, the microphone is used to detect ball impact during capture and, if you choose, for voice input to Coach Mulligan; speech-to-text runs on your computer with a local speech model. On iPhone, voice input uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition. Audio is processed in memory and is not saved or transmitted.
4. Location and Health Data (iPhone)
The iPhone app requests location access to identify nearby golf courses and measure distances in on-course mode. Course information is built into the app, so your location is used only on your device and is never transmitted. You may deny location access and select a course manually.
If you allow it, the Apple Watch app records golf workout sessions in Apple Health during practice and rounds (so it can measure swing motion from the watch) and reads your heart rate to help detect fatigue during practice. This data stays in Apple Health and the app on your devices, under your control, and is never sent to us.
5. Network Connections
The iPhone app makes no network requests for coaching, analysis, or course data. The desktop app makes only these requests:
- Installation and updates (desktop): The installer and first launch download the app’s components and AI models from our download server (downloads.bogeyhunter.ai); each model file is verified by its SHA-256 hash. Automatic updates are not active in Desktop 1.0; the app may check our download server for update information when you choose to. These requests contain no personal data.
- No incoming connections (desktop): The desktop app runs entirely on your computer and does not accept connections from other devices on your network.
- License (desktop): Your license key is checked on your computer; the app never contacts us to validate it.
- No analytics or tracking: The App does not include any analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, crash reporting services, or usage telemetry.
6. Data Storage
Desktop: Your data (profiles, swing clips, analysis results, coaching conversations, and periodic local database backups) is stored in the BogeyHunter data folder on your computer, which is accessible only to your Windows user account. The app’s internal security keys are protected by Windows. The data is not otherwise encrypted by the app; for encryption at rest, use your computer’s disk encryption (such as BitLocker). Nothing is uploaded to us.
iPhone: Data is stored in the app’s private storage on your phone and protected by iOS file encryption whenever your device is locked.
We do not have access to any data stored on your devices.
7. Third-Party Services
BogeyHunter does not share data with third-party services for advertising, analytics, AI processing, or marketing. Purchases are handled by the store you buy from: Apple (App Store subscriptions on iPhone) or Stripe through Stripe Managed Payments (desktop licenses; shown at checkout as “Sold through Link”), under their own privacy policies; we receive only what is needed to provide your license (for the desktop app, your name, e-mail address, and order number).
8. Children's Privacy
BogeyHunter does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App does not require an account, and the information you enter (including an optional age in a golfer profile) stays on your device and is never sent to us.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Because your data resides on your devices, you control retention. On the desktop app, deleting a golfer profile removes that golfer’s sessions, swing clips, coaching history, and Coach Mulligan’s memories, including copies in the app’s local backups. Uninstalling the desktop app asks whether to keep or delete your data folder. On iPhone, deleting the app removes its data.
10. Your Rights
BogeyHunter is on-device software with no accounts and no collection of your data by us, so your data never leaves your control. You can review, export, and delete it at any time: the desktop app can export a golfer’s complete data as a zip file (including when no license is active). If you export a PDF swing report and send it to someone, it goes only to the recipient you choose; the app has no built-in sharing service.
11. BogeyHunter — The Tracker (separate app)
Scope: Sections 11.1–11.8 below cover BogeyHunter — The Tracker, a separate golf scorecard and stats app from And Beyond Apps, LLC., currently in development for Windows. Features marked coming soon are described here so you know how they will handle your data when they ship; this section will be updated as each one becomes available. The Tracker is also covered by Sections 7–10 above (third parties, children’s privacy, retention, your rights), which apply to all And Beyond Apps products.
11.1 Local-First by Design
The Tracker works without a sign-up or account and runs without a backend service. Round data, scorecards, stats, and friend records are stored on your own computer. We have no access to any data stored on your device.
11.2 Information Kept on Your Device
The following data is processed and stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to any server operated by And Beyond Apps:
- Round scores, hole-by-hole strokes, and putts
- Fairways and miss direction, GIR, up-and-downs, sand saves, penalties, and club off the tee
- Names and round history of the playing partners you choose to track
- Insights written by the on-device AI
- Course-fit recommendations
- Coming soon: photos of paper scorecards used for photo-to-scorecard (discarded after recognition)
- Coming soon: your watched-course list and Tee Time Hunter filters (dates, time windows, party size)
11.3 On-Device AI
The Tracker includes a small language model with the desktop app. It runs on your computer’s processor and writes short summaries about your stats. The model works entirely offline, and every number it describes is computed with plain statistics rather than by the AI. Open-source attributions are listed at Credits & Attributions.
11.4 Camera and Photos
Desktop: The Tracker uses keyboard and mouse entry only.
iPhone companion (coming soon): The Tracker will request Camera and Photo Library access for photo-to-scorecard. Recognition runs on-device using Apple’s Vision framework, and source photos are discarded after recognition completes.
11.5 Network Connections
Scoring, dashboards, friend stats, and AI insights all work offline. The Tracker makes the following network requests, each only when you use the feature:
- Tee Time Hunter reads (beta, desktop): HTTPS requests for the public tee-sheet pages of the courses you choose to watch, carrying only the date you’re checking. Your time window and party size are applied on your computer. Requests identify the app by name, honor each site’s robots.txt, and are sent one course at a time. The Hunter reads public availability only; you complete every booking yourself.
- Click-out to book (beta, desktop): tapping an open slot opens the course’s own booking site in your browser. From there, the booking is between you and the course.
- Apple Push Notification service (coming soon, desktop → iPhone): your desktop sends signed requests to Apple to update a Live Activity on your paired iPhone with new-opening summaries. The payload contains availability summaries only.
- Course catalog updates (coming soon): an on-demand download of golf course data (OpenStreetMap-sourced; see Credits). No personal data is included.
- Wi-Fi sync (coming soon): iPhone ↔ desktop sync over your home network, signed and verified end to end, staying on your local network.
The Tracker includes no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
11.6 Local Data Storage
Desktop: Round data lives in a local database in The Tracker’s data folder on your computer, encrypted with AES-256. The encryption key is generated on your computer and kept in Windows Credential Manager, protected by your Windows sign-in. See Encryption for details.
iPhone companion (coming soon): Round data will be stored in the app sandbox and protected by iOS file-level encryption (Data Protection) whenever the device is locked.
11.7 Friends and Head-to-Head Records
The Tracker lets you record the names of playing partners and build up scoring history with each over time. It’s your own record of the people you play with — like a paper handicap card you keep on your friends — stored on your device only.
11.8 Your Rights (Tracker)
Because The Tracker keeps your data on your own device, you hold it directly. You can:
- Export your rounds and scorecards as JSON or CSV at any time
- Delete individual rounds, friends, or your entire dataset from within the app
- Remove the app completely by uninstalling it and deleting its data folder
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. If we introduce any feature that collects data beyond what is described here, we will notify users through the App before the feature is enabled.
